Manufacturing Engineering Position

This role focuses on productivity and efficiency through workflow, space, and equipment layout planning. It involves New Product Introductions (NPIs), team coordination, and implementing Total Effective Operations Approach (TEOA). The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with comprehensive knowledge of the injection molding process, machines, robotics, auxiliary equipment, and mold/tooling design.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and qualify molding processes and tool designs for new and existing tools
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency through process optimization and technology implementation
  • Participate in product development, tool design, Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/A) studies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance molding technology and processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation for mold tooling, spares, and process setup sheets
  • Ensure all tooling/mold design drawings are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards
  • Train and develop new joiners and technical trainees in key skills and competencies
  • Develop multi-skilling in stamping and mold tool design to meet business needs
  • Coordinate with other departments to investigate reject products and develop corrective actions
  • Promote TEOA culture on the shop floor through leadership and coaching
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers on new product development and process improvements
  • Assess resource needs and opportunities for automation and productivity enhancements
  • Review TEOA deployment and quality documentation, participate in audits and assessments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 3-5+ years experience in tooling design and development, preferably in an injection molding environment
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as Pro E/Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis, Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for molds and tooling, stamping tool debugging
  • Knowledge of tool room processes and tooling, with understanding of core competencies like stamping, tool design
