Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer will lead process improvement initiatives for stamping, molding, and assembly operations. They possess extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop manufacturing processes and automation platforms for new product developments and existing product optimization.
  • Provide technical advice to product design through stamping engineering evaluation, conducting DFM evaluations, and working with process development engineers.
  • Prepare WI and PFMEA documents for new products, discussing them with QE and Production teams.
  • Update WI and PFMEA documents based on customer audits or quality improvements.
  • Standardize machine operation or process through WI training.
  • Improve manufacturing processes, production efficiency, and quality.
  • Modify tooling according to customer requests, quality improvements, or efficiency enhancements.
  • Collaborate with QE and Production teams to revise related documents and find root causes for customer complaints.
  • Study or introduce new technologies to improve yield and efficiency.
  • Design, evaluate, and fabricate single and progressive dies.
  • Repair and maintain dies.
  • Trial, adjust, and evaluate dies.
  • Operate machining and press machines.
  • Conduct DFM, EC, and Quality meetings with customers.
  • Design and fabricate jigs.
  • Process improvement.
  • Check new part documents.
  • Supervise operators, designers, technicians, and engineers.
  • Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks/Creo software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in engineering design-related work.
  • Familiarity with design tools like Creo, AutoCAD, and Progressive dies.
  • Knowledge of quality five tools such as FMEA, SPC, APQP.
  • Good communication skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English – written and spoken.
