Category Manager Job Description

This role involves developing and executing category strategies to achieve savings and operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing strategy for assigned product or service categories.
  • Owning product/service scope and leading supplier engagement.
  • Managing supplier relationships, contracts, and category performance.
  • Conducting market analysis to define sourcing strategies.
  • Managing supplier performance and driving category savings.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to align category strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • Identifying innovation and improvement opportunities.
  • Managing risks associated with category supply and demand.
  • Reporting on category KPIs and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement or category management preferred.
    • Minimum 8 years of total work experience in maritime procurement, sourcing, or category management.
    • At least 3 years in a category leadership role.
    • Demonstrated experience in supplier engagement and performance management.
    • Extensive experience in maritime procurement and supply chain management.
    • Category strategy development and execution.
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Supplier relationship and performance management expertise.
    • Analytical and market analysis skills.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
