Category Management Professional

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves leading and executing strategies for specific product or service categories.

  • You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, contracts, and performance to deliver category savings and operational efficiency.
  • The role requires developing and executing strategies for assigned categories, owning product/service scope and leading supplier engagement, managing supplier relationships and contracts, conducting market analysis, managing supplier performance, coordinating with internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance, identifying innovation opportunities, managing risks, and reporting on category KPIs and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing strategies for assigned categories
  • Owning product/service scope and leading supplier engagement
  • Managing supplier relationships and contracts
  • Conducting market analysis to define sourcing strategies
  • Managing supplier performance and driving category savings
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to align category strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and standards
  • Identifying innovation and improvement opportunities
  • Managing risks associated with category supply and demand
  • Reporting on category KPIs and outcomes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, economics, or related field
  • Professional certification in procurement or category management preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years total work experience in maritime procurement, sourcing, or category management
  • At least 3 years in a category leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier engagement and performance management
  • Extensive experience in maritime procurement and supply chain management
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Analytical and market analysis skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement
