Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing our organisation's IT infrastructure.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server administration, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Windows Server environments, overseeing and administering Microsoft 365 services, configuring and managing Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management, and deploying and optimising Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security.

You will also be responsible for supporting and maintaining cloud infrastructure within Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and security configurations. Additionally, you will implement and manage Microsoft Defender for endpoint, identity, and cloud security, and work with Microsoft Purview to ensure compliance, data governance, and security policies.

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide technical support for escalated infrastructure-related incidents and service requests, monitor system performance, availability, and security through proactive monitoring tools, and ensure regular backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
  2. Oversee and administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  3. Configure and manage Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management.
  4. Deploy and optimise Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security.
  5. Support and maintain cloud infrastructure within Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and security configurations.
  6. Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for endpoint, identity, and cloud security.
  7. Work with Microsoft Purview to ensure compliance, data governance, and security policies.
  8. Provide technical support for escalated infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
  9. Monitor system performance, availability, and security through proactive monitoring tools.
  10. Ensure regular backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
Requirements

To be successful as an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will need:

  • 3+ years of IT infrastructure engineering experience, focusing on Microsoft technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.
  • Experience with Intune for device and application management.
  • Familiarity with security tools like Microsoft Defender and compliance solutions like Purview.
  • Exposure to scripting and automation using PowerShell.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent are advantageous.
