Job Profile

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage and maintain our MySQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

This role involves administering and maintaining MySQL databases with focus on performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance. Additionally, supporting MS SQL Server administration, including regular maintenance, backup management, and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain MySQL databases with emphasis on performance enhancement and optimization strategies.
  • Support MS SQL Server administration, encompassing routine maintenance, data backup, and performance analysis.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and alerts using Zabbix to ensure database health and availability.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot slow-running or problematic database queries to optimize performance.
  • Resolve transaction-related issues such as deadlocks, hung transactions, and locking problems in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to resolve database-related challenges efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in MySQL administration.
  • Background in MS SQL Server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of storage engines (InnoDB vs MyISAM).
  • Proven expertise in query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Experience in resolving deadlocks and transaction management.
  • Implementation experience in backup/restore strategies.
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
  • Honest, proactive, and efficient approach to problem-solving.
