GIS Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in linear reference systems and transportation networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain linear reference systems for road networks.
  • Manage and maintain road databases integrating various data sources.
  • Perform spatial analysis and create visualization solutions for transportation data.
  • Evaluate and ensure data quality and integrity across all geospatial datasets.
  • Collaborate with pavement engineering, management, and IT teams.
  • Document technical processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in geodesy, civil or environmental engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with GIS and preferable with road networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of GIS software (preferable QGIS) and database management systems (preferable PostgreSQL).
  • Advanced knowledge in programming languages for geospatial applications (Python, SQL) and automatization environments (Powershell).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of transportation asset management principles.
  • Experience with mobile data collection and field operations.
  • Experience with GPS data processing and integration.
  • Experience with LiDAR data and 3D modeling.
  • Knowledge of web-based GIS applications and services.
