We are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team and support the accounting operations of our U.S.-based startup clients. In this remote role, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate general ledgers, managing daily accounting tasks, and assisting in month-end closings.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in finance and accounting to make a meaningful impact on fast-growing startups and dynamic companies from the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow), perform journal entries, reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in general ledger accounts.
  • Client Support & Ad Hoc Projects: Collaborate with Controllers on income/expense projections, complete reviews of your work and support quality checks for team members, address client queries and deliver timely updates as needed.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Support compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local accounting regulations, help ensure that bookkeeping and tax-related documentation are audit-ready.
  • Administrative & Internal Coordination: Track time accurately across multiple client accounts, participate in internal training and team meetings, perform other business-related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience working remotely for a U.S.-based accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to follow through and execute a high volume of nuanced tasks.
