Senior Software Engineering Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering teams and drive the development of our Ubuntu operating system.

This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in software engineering, leadership, and technical expertise in Linux and open source technologies.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality software products, leading cross-functional teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software products
  • Oversee commercial engagements and support timely delivery on agreed project milestones
  • Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures
  • Implement disciplined engineering processes to ensure quality and reliability
  • Integrate and maintain platform-oriented software stacks to optimize Ubuntu for latest hardware platforms
Requirements
  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in C, C++, and Python programming languages
  • Experience with Linux and operational systems software, including kernel and user space
  • Experience with Debian/Ubuntu or other distro packaging
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience leading software engineering teams
