The successful candidate will require proficiency in technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects of the power industry to come up with decisions and recommendations in Energy Trading that consider its impact on MGEN's business interest.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, and allied courses
  • Professional License in Engineering (or certification for non-PRC regulated profession)
  • At least 5 years of work experience as Energy Trader, Trading Analyst with hands-on experience in WESM Market Management System; or
  • At least 8 years of work experience in the Electric Power Industry preferably in a capacity requiring familiarity with the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), the Philippine Grid and Distribution Code, the WESM Rules, the ERC Rules related to Retail Competition and Open Access, and Renewable Energy Act
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with spreadsheet and programming
  • Working knowledge in Technical and Commercial tools preferred (e.g., Plexos, I-pool, PSSE, R, Python, Matlab) and other analytical software
