Senior Financial Manager Position

The role of Senior Financial Manager entails overseeing the financial health and stability of an organization. This encompasses a range of responsibilities, including managing payroll and superannuation, ensuring timely settlement of ATO liabilities, and overseeing bill approvals and tax obligations.

Key duties include:

  • Financial Operations & Compliance: Responsible for managing payroll, superannuation, and ensuring timely settlement of ATO liabilities. Oversees bill approvals and tax obligations.
  • Receivables & Invoicing: Monitors accounts receivable, follows up on payments, and ensures accurate invoicing.
  • Expense Monitoring & Financial Oversight: Tracks spending, adheres to budgets, investigates transactions, and oversees cash flow and liabilities.
  • Bookkeeping Support & Coordination: Provides transaction data to bookkeepers, ensures account reconciliation, and responds to financial inquiries.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepares financial reports for the Board, assists auditors, and provides financial insights for decision-making.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification; post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Five years or more experience in a senior financial role, preferably in non-profit or community organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MS Excel/Google Sheets, and ideally Salesforce.
  • Leadership skills, results-driven, and team-building abilities.
  • High ethics and integrity, committed to the organization's mission.
  • Reliable, accountable, and capable of meeting deadlines in remote work settings.
