Key Roles and Responsibilities

The primary goal of this position is to support day-to-day financial operations, focusing on expense management, accuracy in coding, internal documentation, and the preparation of comprehensive financial reports.

This role ensures consistency during month-end closing and reporting cycles by categorizing corporate spend correctly by account and department, particularly through reconciliation of card transactions (e.g., via digital tools).

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting by verifying all corporate spend before month-end close, especially through reconciliation of card transactions (e.g., via digital tools).
  • Follow up with stakeholders and internal teams to correct or complete financial coding and documentation.
  • Identify recurring issues in expense classification and propose solutions, including developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) or internal guides to reduce errors at their source.
  • Monitor and validate the classification of key expense types (e.g., software, sales & marketing, consulting, contractor payments).
  • Assist with gathering and organizing data for monthly financial reporting, including preparation of supporting schedules as requested by senior analysts or accounting professionals.
  • Support ad hoc finance requests, including pulling transaction histories, reconciling variances, or conducting analysis as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or operations support roles.
  • High proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong Excel skills with working knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and data cleanup techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clarify procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes.
