We seek a skilled Technical Documentation Specialist to craft clear, user-friendly documentation for our API and Design System.

Job Overview

We are a global cloud-based platform that enables businesses to communicate with customers and staff through multiple channels. As a Technical Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for writing, maintaining, and publishing high-quality documentation to support our developer community.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to gather complex technical information and communicate it through written copy. Your excellent verbal, written, and grammatical communication skills will enable you to present insights and data clearly and concisely.

The ideal candidate will possess 4-7 years of experience in writing technical documentation for multiple audiences and working with engineering teams. They will also have experience using APIs or writing content for API documentation, as well as prior development experience in any front-end or back-end languages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with developers to gain a deep understanding of the API and supporting products.
  • Collaborate with the developer community to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Own and manage API documentation to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Write user-friendly content that transforms complex technical information into something accessible and engaging.
  • Provide code-snippets and on-page technical content for our developer portal.
  • Advocate for technical users and participate in customer-centric research.
  • Assess the state of current technical content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Aid in creating and maintaining a company-wide design system.
  • Collaborate with brand copywriters to ensure consistent tone-of-voice.
  • Facilitate technical training for internal teams about the API and related topics.

Bonus Points: Experience with cloud-based platforms, SaaS communications, and front-end/back-end development.
