Technical Leadership Position

This is a leadership role for experienced software engineers who want to advance their careers by guiding technical directions and teams. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for developing and improving engineering practices, strengthening the technical skills of your team members, and ensuring that they are equipped to handle complex challenges.

You will work closely with other department heads to align company and departmental goals, focusing on delivering high-quality products through agile development methods. Your responsibilities will include leading and mentoring teams, driving architectural decisions, managing multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with stakeholders, and promoting a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and guide engineering teams while maintaining a close connection to the codebase to inform technical direction.

  • Drive architectural decisions, software design, and technical implementation in collaboration with engineers.

  • Manage multiple projects using current tools and improve agile practices.

  • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align priorities, resolve trade-offs, and deliver value.

  • Create an environment of technical excellence, creativity, and accountability among team members.

  • Regularly define and update objectives with the team to ensure alignment with business goals.

  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term scalability and sustainability while recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation in process, tools, and technology.

  • Support decision-making processes with technical insights.

  • Promote engineering best practices, code quality, testing, and operational excellence.

  • Inspire the team with challenging goals and empower them to achieve success.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 5–7 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2–3 years in technical leadership or management roles.

  • Strong engineering background with a proven track record in designing, developing, deploying, and scaling end-to-end software solutions.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to operate in fast-paced environments and balance competing priorities.

  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills, passionate about growing people and teams.

  • Highly creative, able to challenge conventional approaches, and drive innovative solutions.

  • Strong leadership skills and sense of accountability.

Desirable Skills

  • Hands-on experience in Transportation/Mobility as a Service (TMaaS) or related industries.

  • Prior startup experience.

  • Certifications in Agile, Scrum, PMP, or similar.

  • Experience leading cloud-native, mobile-first, or large-scale distributed systems.
