We are seeking a highly skilled Canadian Tax Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

This role involves providing bookkeeping and tax compliance support for our clients in Canada. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks Online, preferably in the Canadian edition, and possess strong organizational skills.

  • Responsibilities include performing full-cycle bookkeeping tasks, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and categorizing transactions according to provided guidelines.
  • The selected candidate will also assist in preparing data and schedules required for Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns for review and filing by our Canadian accountant.
  • Additional responsibilities include generating standard monthly financial reports from QBO, updating and maintaining financial tracking sheets, organizing and managing digital receipts and documents, and helping track recurring property-related accounts.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or junior accountant role is required.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, particularly in the international version, is essential.
  • Experience working with international clients is highly desirable, as well as skilled use of Google Sheets/Excel for data management and tracking.
  • Familiarity with receipt management tools like Hubdoc is a plus, along with good written and verbal communication skills and a proactive attitude.
