Financial Accountant Job

The role of a financial accountant is vital in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of an organization's financial records. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the general ledger, performing reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Reconciliation and Closing: Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and closing processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports as required.
  • Journal Entries and Accruals: Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Bank and Vendor Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
  • Assistance with Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international financial reporting standards and audit requirements.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Work closely with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third parties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Qualification: A certification from a recognized accounting body is essential.
  • General Ledger Accounting Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger (GL) accounting is required.
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: Proven experience with Xero accounting software or similar systems.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for effective management of financial data.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools is required.
