The Business Development Manager role entails generating and supporting integrated solution sales that include Contract Logistics solution elements. They will collaborate closely with the business development and sales teams to produce sales leads, design business solutions, and maintain a strong pipeline of business opportunities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the business development and sales teams to explore and support integrated solution sales, including contract logistics solutions.
- Generate sales leads and develop business solutions that meet customer requirements, converting prospects into new business.
- Maintain open lines of communication with the field sales team and business development colleagues to ensure a strong pipeline of business opportunities.
- Be responsible for compiling, quoting, and presenting proposals for new business inquiries, ensuring timely completion and response to RFIs and RFQs.
- Develop specialized knowledge related to the business unit for pricing and RFQ preparation.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for new customer implementation, including project planning, solution design, warehouse setup, SOPs, cost analysis, and contracting, to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Achieve and exceed sales and profit targets assigned by management.
- Liaise with vendors to ensure that operations meet the requirements of our cargo partners and customers.
- Prepare and conduct customer visits, calls, presentations, and commercial and contractual discussions as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers to ensure long-term partnerships and loyalty.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management or a related field is required.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in 3PL sales, business development, contract logistics, or freight forwarding is required.
- Proven ability to influence decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, warehousing, and transportation solutions.
- Ability to engage top management to drive win-win situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizing skills with attention to detail.
