Accounting Leadership Position

This role combines hands-on accounting expertise with leadership and client relationship management, creating a dynamic environment for growth and development.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants and bookkeepers to achieve departmental goals and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies through proactive monitoring and enforcement.
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to inform business decisions and drive strategic growth.
  • Develop and implement effective financial controls and process enhancements to optimize efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate with senior management and clients to address financial inquiries, resolve issues, and provide expert insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external accountants as required to maintain financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting practices.
  • Experience in property management accounting is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, AppFolio, or similar).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.
