Job Overview

Transportation professionals contribute to the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and customers.

They manage transportation assets and systems to achieve better service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

About Transportation Management

Transportation management teams offer a full suite of logistics services, covering all transportation needs of clients. They provide consultative expertise, scale, and data-driven insights to drive business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Support pharmaceutical and medical customers with same-day and next-day transportation models on operations teams.
  • Proactively handle customer, shipper, and carrier service requests and related inquiries.
  • Ensure planned service activities are entered in technology and assigned/dispatched to carriers.
  • Serve as primary points of contact for carrier providers regarding routing, service expectations, and completing transportation requests.
  • Monitor activity status and proactively contact carriers to resolve issues.
  • Communicate with customers about potential disruptions and recovery plans.
  • Track, analyze, and report on relevant metrics as needed or requested.
  • Work with business leadership to define, develop, implement, and improve business processes and technology.
  • Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Internal candidates require a minimum 3.00/ performance rating and one year or more on current tenure.

External candidates need a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with 2-4 years experience in transportation planning or shipping activities.

Additional qualifications include prior experience working in freight brokerage or transportation industries, knowledge of transportation management systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.
