Main Responsibilities:

  • To develop and ensure adherence to a clear framework for finance policies and procedures.
  • To develop and ensure appropriate policies and procedures exist for financial management across various offices.
  • To conduct a comprehensive review and approval framework for policies and procedures.
  • To communicate new policies and procedures or any changes to existing policies and procedures.
  • To advise on the interpretation and application of finance policies and procedures.
  • To assist in identifying and improving processes and practices with a customer-focused mindset.

Policies and Procedures Development:

  • Develop and implement finance policies and procedures adhering to a clear framework ensuring compliance with policy frameworks.
  • Prepare new policies and procedures and prepare amendments to existing ones based on external research, feedback, and input from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Implement a robust review process for all policies and procedures. Ensure groups of stakeholders and subject matter experts are consulted and approve documents in line with RAPID frameworks.
  • Keep up-to-date with broader organisational policy changes and releases and identify any amendments required to finance policies and procedures to ensure alignment.

Communication Framework:

  • Develop and implement a clear communication framework for new and updated policies and procedures.
  • Conduct virtual training, updates, and workshops according to a clear timetable including working with subject matter experts to develop and implement sessions about significant topics, common problems/issues, and other topics that require more thorough understanding.

Advice and Support:

  • Advise colleagues on the interpretation and implementation of finance policies by connecting with stakeholders to gather information and responses as appropriate.
  • Support CAFO departments on the development and review of policies and procedures as requested.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support and at times lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Seek opportunities for automation, improvements in quality and efficiency by utilising technology.
  • Remain current and increase knowledge in related finance areas through self-study and/or continuing professional education efforts.
