System Engineer Position Overview

A System Engineer is responsible for planning, deploying, and managing database systems to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deploy database systems to meet business needs.
  • Upgrade and migrate existing database systems to meet evolving requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with database systems to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper configuration and tuning of database systems for peak performance.
  • Implement successful backup and disaster recovery processes for database systems.
  • Configure automated database deployment to streamline processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • At least 3+ years' administering IBM DB2 on Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Proficient in IBM AIX, Unix, and Power environment.
  • Fluent in DB2 programming language.
  • Strong skills in database design and development.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
