Support Missionaries in their First Twelve Weeks

In this role, you will be a vital part of our team supporting missionaries in their first twelve weeks in the field. As an In-Field Mentor, you will provide remote training and guidance to help them succeed in their missionary work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one coaching, small group facilitation, and regular follow-up to support the missionaries' growth and development.
  • Plan and prepare sessions following an approved curriculum to meet the missionaries' unique needs.
  • Direct missionaries in planning and accounting for their learning, ensuring they stay on track with their goals.
  • Implement direction and training from the Mentor Trainer, Manager, Regional Manager, and Senior Manager of In-Field Learning and Development.
  • Attend weekly training meetings and one-on-ones with the Mentor Trainer to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements:
  • A returned missionary of less than 3 years or currently teaching at an MTC unless exceptional language need is identified.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at a high proficiency in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Preach My Gospel.
  • Ability to train remotely through video calls on a desktop or laptop.
  • Excellent interpersonal, prioritizing, professionalism, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Returned missionary of 2 years or less
  • MTC classroom teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience with online interactions including chat, video conference, etc.
  • Fluency in a second language
