Payroll Consultant Specialist

This is a key role in our organization, responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of our clients' Workday solutions. As a Payroll Consultant, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand their business requirements and design, configure, and test Workday solutions that meet their needs.

Your key responsibilities will include providing expertise in the Workday Payroll product suite, leading deployment teams or coaching others to successfully gather and document client business requirements, design and configure Workday solutions, demonstrate configurations through prototype systems, assist in testing Workday solutions, convert legacy data into Workday, configure and test integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions, mentor new consultants, and serve as a professional role model.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a current active Workday Payroll Certification, 2+ years of experience implementing Payroll/Absence/Time Tracking Solutions, and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Previous consulting experience with a software company and experience configuring and deploying Workday, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, ADP, Ultimate, or similar applications are also highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated project management experience, functional experience in one or more areas such as Payroll, Absence and/or Time Tracking, excellent verbal and written communication skills, business analysis and requirements gathering abilities, and the ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.

This role involves working remotely, with expected travel ranging from 0-30% depending on the project. • Provide expertise in the Workday Payroll (including Absence or Time Tracking) product suite.
• Lead the following as a member of a deployment team, or coach others to successfully: gather and document client business requirements, design and configure the Workday solution, demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems, assist in testing the Workday solution, and complete knowledge transfer to clients.
• Work with confidential client/data conversion team to help convert legacy data into Workday.
• Assist the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions.
• Mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model as well as coach others on product knowledge.
• Resolve complex tasks/requirements when other team members need support.
• Facilitate clients' intellectual and practical adoption of Workday best practices.
• Maintain clients' ongoing satisfaction, ensuring we are referenceable and referable once in production.
• Provide regular status reports to the project managers keeping them apprised of overall project status.
• Innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications.
• Ensure functional solutions are compatible with downstream data translation (assist integrators in configuring/testing integrations between Workday and external systems).
• Demonstrate computational thinking. Identify problem components, analyze patterns, remove inefficient configurations or processes, and construct algorithmic solutions scalable to ongoing client needs.
• Contribute to and mold a culture of continuous education amongst your colleagues, mentees, and managers - serve as a professional role model.
• Provide insightful status reports to project managers that highlight risks to project health and improvements in client adoption.
