Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing the work of junior accountants, ensuring the accuracy and quality of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables before submission.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and overseeing the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Managing UK payroll processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assisting in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Supervising and mentoring accounting teams, providing guidance and constructive feedback while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaising with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters, and compliance requirements.
  • Identifying areas for improvements and implementing best practices within the accounting workflow.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience in a UK accounting firm, with a strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to review junior's work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission.
  • Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance.
  • Leadership and team delegation skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring accounting teams.
  • Software proficiency in Xero and other UK accounting software.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with high-level accuracy, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong English language proficiency (written and verbal).
