Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer

The Assistant CFO will be responsible for collaborating closely with the Chief Financial Officer and executive leadership to develop, implement, and manage financial strategies. This includes preparing and analyzing comprehensive financial reports to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in project-level accounting, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and percentage-of-completion reporting.
  • Oversee contract compliance, lien releases, retention, and change order financial tracking.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Cash Flow Management and Budgeting:
  • Manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts tied to project pipelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers on budgets, pay applications, and cost-to-complete reports.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP, retention, and pay applications.
  • Proficiency in construction Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/accounting software, such as Vista by Viewpoint.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
