Senior DevOps Observability Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Observability Engineer to drive the future direction of Observability, focusing on offering observability as code and setting standards for all teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Observability Solution: Develop and maintain a robust Observability solution aligned with IT strategy and strategic DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate with Application Teams: Work across application teams to integrate the Observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebase.
  • Ensure Governance Compliance: Communicate with governance streams to ensure adherence to process, quality, and architectural design.
  • Deliver Key Features: Take ownership/accountability for development of key features and drive to completion.
  • Communicate Progress: Communicate effectively on progress and ensure impediments are raised early to minimize impact on delivery.
  • Resolve Production Defects: Participate in incident management to rectify Production defects based on criticality and severity.

Requirements:

  • Observability Pillars and Tools: Understanding of Observability pillars and knowledge of tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch.
  • AWS Resource Deployment: Hands-on experience in deploying and managing AWS resources.
  • Full-Stack Software Engineering: Current experience of hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineering using Java, Microsoft c#, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Application Lifecycle Management: Experience of Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies such as Source Code Management; git, DevOps platforms; Gitlab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus.
