About the Role

The Global Variable Compensation Strategist will lead the assessment, identification, and deployment of variable incentive compensation strategies/initiatives for India and Philippine based Optum and UHC employees. This individual will develop variable compensation solutions that promote a consistent, standardized, and equitable experience for employees across multiple capabilities and roles.

Main Responsibilities
  • Compensation-related Expertise
    • Maintain knowledge of current best practices in the compensation field as they relate to India based employee populations.
    • Collaborate with businesses, Human Capital, Total Rewards, Finance, and other supporting partners to champion/enforce variable compensation philosophy and best practices into Human Capital activities and broader business strategy.
    • Develop training programs and educate applicable audiences on variable compensation-related policies/tools/processes/issues.
    • Create ongoing communications to ensure awareness/understanding of variable compensation programs, tools, and changes for applicable audiences.
    • Provide recommendations to support development/revision and standardization of variable compensation strategies.
    • Lead project management efforts for projects related to global variable compensation.
    • Incorporate industry best practices into variable compensation program design.
  • Variable Compensation Programs/Policies Design/Development/Management
    • Develop framework and guidelines for variable compensation programs across India & the Philippines.
    • Manage/support variable compensation program renewals and approvals.
    • Design/update incentive plans.
    • Evaluate compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements specific to India & the Philippines.
    • Assess financial issues impacting compensation programs (e.g., ROI, CBA).
  • Compensation-related Data Analysis
    • Partner with business leaders, Human Capital, and Total rewards to conduct assessments of existing variable compensation programs.
    • Lead salary/budget surveys.
    • Conduct market analyses and apply market data as appropriate to support variable compensation decisions.
  • Reporting/Analysis of Compensation Projects/Data
    • Provide incentive/spending reports to stakeholders.
    • Utilize systems/tools to manage/analyze/report variable compensation data.
  • Comply with employment contract terms, company policies, and procedures, and any directives.
