Job Role

The Chief Strategy and Information Officer (CSIO) is a critical leadership position that requires strategic vision and direction. This role involves overseeing the provisioning of ICT, Business Information Systems, and organizational planning for strategy and performance management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sustainable strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee the provision of information and communication services.
  • Provide Business Information Systems services, including knowledge management.
  • Manage strategy and organizational performance management services.
  • Evaluate and ensure embedding of risk, compliance, and audit practices across all divisions' processes and systems.
  • Manage divisional resources, including people, finance, and assets.

Requirements
  • Matric (NQF Level 4) and Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7), Honours Degree (NQF level 8) in Information Management/Systems or Business Administration plus a Master's Degree (NQF Level 9).
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in a combination of planning, strategic management, ICT, and information management/systems environment, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Experience in strategy formulation, monitoring, and evaluation systems, organisational performance, and reporting.
  • Understanding of public sector compliance environment.
  • Direct management of a major ICT operation.
  • Practical application of project management approaches such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
  • Understanding of ICT governance frameworks and quality standards e.g. COBIT and ITIL.
  • Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of Public Service governance framework.
