Job Description for a Power Systems Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to manage and direct activities related to power system studies in diverse modelling environments.

Main responsibilities include preparation of technical reports, coordination of generator connection processes, design management, project control, supervision of subcontractors, and development of cost-effective engineering solutions.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics, with 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle delivery of multi-disciplinary complex high-voltage grid connection projects.

A strong emphasis on HSEQ principles and a passion for achieving exceptional results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction are essential.

Proficiency in PSCAD software and excellent communication skills are also required.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled multitasker with a friendly, positive attitude and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
  • 3 – 5 years' experience in full-cycle delivery of multi-disciplinary complex high voltage grid connection projects
  • Background in an engineering design, build & commission operating environment
  • Strong HSEQ focus and passion for achieving exceptional results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels
  • Skilled multitasker with a friendly, positive attitude
  • Experience using PSCAD Software
