Job Description:

The occupational health specialist is a vital member of the organization's healthcare team. They are responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to employees, fostering a safe and healthy work environment, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.


Responsibilities:

This role involves a combination of clinical expertise, health promotion, and administrative support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing medical care and advice to employees
  • Conducting health assessments and investigations
  • Developing and implementing health and safety programs
  • Managing medical records and maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field
  • Valid professional regulation commission license
  • Basic occupational safety and health training (BOSH) certification is an asset
  • At least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, preferably in an occupational health setting or similar environment
  • Experience in conducting health assessments, providing first aid, and managing medical records
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with employees at all levels
