Purchasing Officer Job Description

Key responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure high-quality products at competitive prices. This involves negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.

In addition, the Purchasing Officer must monitor inventory levels and procure required materials and supplies in a timely manner. They will prepare and process purchase orders according to company policies and maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, and pricing.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to secure favorable terms. They will also ensure compliance with legal and company procurement policies, resolving any issues related to delayed deliveries, damaged goods, or payment discrepancies.

This role requires strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as excellent organizational and time-management abilities. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Familiarity with supply chain management and market research is also preferred.

For this position, we require a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. At least 2-3 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role is necessary. A strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
