System Support Specialist Job

We are seeking a skilled System Support Specialist to fill this key role. As a critical team member, you will be responsible for providing 24x7 support in a production environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience with Linux system administration, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and the ability to work varied shift schedules including early morning, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts in a 24x7 production environment.

  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux systems and services daily.
  • Triage and resolve issues as needed.
  • Investigate alerts, coordinate responses, document responses, and communicate effectively with team members.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Administration of Ubuntu Linux Servers in a 24x7 Production Environment.
  2. Daily Maintenance, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting of Linux Systems and Services.
  3. Triage and Resolve Issues, Escalating When Necessary.
  4. Alert Investigation and Response Coordination, Documentation, and Team Communication.

A successful candidate will possess a solid background in Bash scripting, proficiency in Perl and GoLang, and familiarity with best practices for user management, configuration, and package management.

Experience managing Proxmox or similar Linux KVM hypervisors is highly beneficial.

The ideal candidate will also have knowledge and experience with technologies such as Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, MySQL, Redis, Memcache, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Proxmox, Bash, Perl, Go, PHP, Ceph, CFEngine, Git, Docker, and Juniper.
