Job Title: Early Childhood Education Assistant

The role of the Early Childhood Education Assistant is to provide quality preschool services for children enrolled in the Early Care and Learning program.

  • Interactions with Children and Families (80%)
  • Staff Relationships (10%)
  • Administrative Functions (10%)
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, including 3 semester units of Infant & Toddler Development. Alternatively, applicants may meet this requirement through the Teacher Aide Apprenticeship program.
  • A current Teacher Assistant Permit or above based on the California Teacher Credential (CTC) Matrix. Additionally, a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate within 30 days of hire is required.
Work Schedule
  • This position works full-time, 40 hours a week, with possible overtime.
  • The schedule may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends depending on program needs.
Work Environment

This role is located in an Early Care and Learning Center with classrooms for children aged Birth to 5 years, outdoor playgrounds, and possibly office and storage areas. Work location may vary based on business needs.

  • Background checks according to program requirements, including Live Scan, Health Clearance, MVR/DMV, Child Development Permit, CPR certification, and Federal Debarment Checks as applicable.
