Technology Strategist

The Business Technology Lead plays a pivotal role in driving technology solutions to support business strategies and operations.

This senior-level position is responsible for overseeing the overall planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of all application systems that support the business group.

The lead ensures that functional, operational, and compliance requirements are met and acts as a liaison between the IT team and business group heads, systems support teams, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will provide oversight and help prioritize technology projects to ensure alignment with business group strategies and company policies, standards, and procedures.

• Represent the IT Team in assigned business groups and collaborate with senior management to plan and execute technology solutions.
• Coordinate with other management teams and BTLs for strategies and projects affecting multiple business groups.
• Provide regular reports on the performance of application systems according to predefined Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and opportunities and align technology initiatives accordingly.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation to drive operational excellence.
• Assess business processes to identify where technology can enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer experience.
• Recommend and design technology solutions that align with requirements, budgets, and long-term goals.
• Evaluate vendor products, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and make implementation recommendations.
• Oversee the applications portfolio and projects for assigned business groups.
• Lead technology projects with planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination.
• Ensure project milestones are achieved, risks identified, and issues resolved.
• Monitor and guide project teams in the execution of technology projects.
• Review and support project management standards and methodologies.
• Identify and resolve technology risks and issues affecting operations.
• Maintain understanding of the architecture and processes of the applications portfolio.
• Coordinate with operations units to ensure efficient performance of application systems.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and data security standards.
• Implement a governance framework to align technology solutions with business objectives and maintain ongoing monitoring and audits.
• Facilitate sourcing of solutions and service providers, negotiate agreements, and manage relationships.
• Manage direct line reports including training, development, mentoring, and administrative tasks.

• Graduate of a 4-year college degree in Computer Science or other IT-related courses.
• Graduate of a 4-year college degree in a business course with significant IT units or training.
• At least 10 years of experience in program management.
• At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Program and project management experience in technology solutions.
• Knowledge of business processes and applications in the financial services industry.
• Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Program management, stakeholder management, risk and issue management, and vendor management skills.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
