Our vision at Canonical is to be a leading provider of open source software and operating systems globally. We achieve this through our platform, Ubuntu, which is widely used in various enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation and IoT.

The core team meets bi-annually in person, aligning on strategy and execution. However, we require the support of remote engineers to build customer trust and deliver satisfaction.

We are seeking an expert Cloud Support Engineer who can provide technical assistance to customers leveraging Ubuntu and open-source products. The ideal candidate should have a passion for technology and experience with Linux environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for investigating complex issues reported by customers, escalating them when necessary, and working towards resolving them. You will also engage directly with customers, participating in regular weekend rotations to ensure seamless support. Furthermore, you will contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones to enhance shared knowledge.

Key requirements include professional written and spoken English, excellent presentation skills, an exceptional academic track record, and relevant experience in supporting Linux systems. Specifically, you should have hands-on experience with virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, and networking. Additionally, expertise in cloud computing, advanced troubleshooting, programming fundamentals, and extensive customer support experience are essential. Finally, ability to travel internationally for company events is required.
