Automation Engineer

The Automation Tester will be responsible for planning, designing and developing manual and automated test tools, methodologies, scripts and executing end-to-end automation and manual test cases.

This role is accountable to track results, log defects and ensure all assigned testing deliverables are met within the sprint and product release.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, Business or Economics or equivalent work experience, with 4+ years of automation testing experience.

Experience with automated testing tool Playwright/Selenium, as well as knowledge of Java, Maven and Postman is also required.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills with REST and SOAP web services, API testing and familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines and parallel test execution.

They should also be able to work across multiple products/squads and have regular use of a defect and test management system such as JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint.

As an Automation Tester at our organization, you will contribute to implementing repeatable automated tests during sprints to ensure quality, reduce test execution time and incorporate automated tests into CI/CD processes.

• Creating test strategies, test plans and test scripts for both automated and manual testing.
• Developing scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks.
• Contributing to implement repeatable automated tests during sprints to ensure quality, reduce test execution time, and incorporate automated tests into CI/CD processes.
• Planning the budget and labour needs of each sprint and product releases.
• Working in a dedicated squad team and helping to drive product quality.
• Ensuring all assigned testing deliverables timelines are met within the sprint and product release.
• Creating and communicating test reports for stakeholders such as the principal engineer, product owner, scrum master, and release management.
• Liaising with business users, business analysts and engineers to ensure that any assigned defects are resolved.
• Maintaining awareness of external environments and trends in testing, in order to contribute to the improvement of processes and assets.
• Promoting productivity through test automation tools, methodologies and best practices.
• Coaching and training other team members on manual and automated testing.
• Adapting new ways of working, finding ways to continually improve, and actively participating in squad events.
