Job Title: Patient Service Representative
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced healthcare professional to provide exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and maintain accurate patient records within Athena EHR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet callers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their needs promptly.
- Schedule primary care appointments, including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
- Maintain and update patient records accurately in Athena EHR.
- Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies.
- Requires 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine.
- Proficiency in Athena EHR, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features.
- Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in family medicine/internal medicine scheduling protocols.
- Proficiency in Athena EHR.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral coordination.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
