Project Estimator

Job Description

The Project Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with estimating software.

Responsibilities include reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, project plans, and specifications. Additionally, the estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work. The individual will also analyze historical data and pricing trends to improve the accuracy of estimates.

Other key responsibilities include soliciting and evaluating bids from subcontractors and vendors, developing and maintaining a database of unit costs, productivity rates, and supplier pricing. The Project Estimator will participate in bid reviews and risk analysis discussions, and coordinate with project managers to transition awarded projects into production smoothly.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator (3+ years preferred)
  • Experience with estimating in various types of construction (residential, commercial, civil, industrial)
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, as well as experience with remote collaboration tools.
