Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our BootStack team. This role is ideal for a technologist with expertise in Linux and Cloud technologies who wants to build a career driving success with Ubuntu and open source products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize engineering team quality and velocity through effective management.
  • Analyze and measure key performance indicators.
  • Implement disciplined processes in engineering and operations.
  • Represent the BootStack team with stakeholders, customers, and external teams.
  • Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Meet service level agreements with global customer deployments.
  • Deliver quality managed services consistently and timely.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology field.
  • Proven experience in software delivery (Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar) and/or managing operations teams.
  • Experience with OpenStack.
  • Strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality.
  • Linux system administration experience, Ubuntu/Debian a plus.
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills.
  • Agile software development methodologies experience.
  • Distributed team management experience.
  • Complex distributed systems understanding.
  • Cloud topologies and technologies experience.

This is a globally remote role with opportunities for travel to team and company events, as well as customer meetings.
