Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production to join our client's design and manufacturing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products.

You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using CAD software
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes
  • Maintain organized documentation of all revisions, drawings, and technical records
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with furniture designers and production teams to ensure technical drawings align with design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and material specifications
  • Review and adjust designs for structural integrity, ergonomics, and material efficiency
  • Provide technical support during prototyping, fabrication, and installation phases
  • Troubleshoot design or material issues that arise during production
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production
  • Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles
