Senior Engineering Leader

We are seeking an experienced and skilled leader to head our Data Platform team.

Job Summary
  • Direct a team building scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud environments.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and lead by example to foster a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
  • Maintain sound engineering skills by directly contributing code when needed.
  • Effectively communicate with other teams, senior management, and stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Cultivate modern software development practices and advocate for their adoption.
  • Develop and promote best engineering and organizational practices.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet user needs and expectations.
Key Qualifications
  • A background in software engineering, preferably with expertise in Python and Golang.
  • Experience running in production and at scale, particularly in Big Data or MySQL environments.
  • Excellent people skills, including ability to assess motivations, abilities, and developmental needs of team members.
  • A proven track record of building high-quality, open-source software.
  • Able to drive good engineering practices around performance and quality.

Bonus Skills That You Might Bring:

  • Specialized knowledge in one or more areas such as Spark, Superset, MySQL, or similar technologies.
  • Prior experience working with open-source communities and a willingness to build products collaboratively.
