The Role of a Business Analyst

A Business Analyst I Hybrid is a crucial member of an agile team, bridging the gap between stakeholders and developers. The BA works closely with business stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and document requirements, translating them into development tasks that align with the desired business outcome.

In this role, you will analyze organizational processes and design systems, assessing business models and their integration with technology. You will assess the current state, identify customer needs, and define the future state or business solution. Your research and information gathering skills will enable you to synthesize data and provide valuable insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation Expertise: Produce high-quality documentation that meets standards and is tailored to its audience.
  • Collaborative Work: Partner with internal teams to gain in-depth product knowledge and understand documentation requirements.
  • Content Analysis: Examine existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Requirements Elicitation: Identify, formalize, and validate functional and non-functional requirements, documenting them as user stories or relevant artifacts.
  • Workflow Design: Construct workflows and business process models to optimize operations.
  • Timely Support: Collaborate with the development team to provide timely support and guidance on requirements, roadmaps, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Clients' Needs: Understand business needs, lead requirement gathering sessions, and deliver clear documentation and insights.
  • Functionality Design: Contribute to designing functionality together with the UX designer and/or development team.
  • Technological Exploration: Explore new technologies and trends to enhance business models and operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Graduate of Computer Science, IT, Business Analysis, Process Engineering, or equivalent fields.
  • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience with IT implementation projects and business analysis.
  • Certification: CBAP/IIBA Certification is highly valued.
  • Technical Writing: Proven experience in technical writing of software documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and presentation skills in English.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Google Docs / Google Sheets / Microsoft Office.
  • Methodology Expertise: Proficiency with the SDLC, Agile Scrum Methodology, backlog management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps), and Behavior-Driven Development.
  • Agile Environment: Experience working as a business analyst in an agile environment.
  • Analysis Tools: Familiarity with analysis and modeling tools.
  • Graduate Diploma: Graduate diploma in courses related to IT/ Business Analysis / Process Engineering.
  • Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience translating complex business needs into structured requirements.
