Job Description
">A General Ledger Accountant, Shared Services is responsible for the accurate recording of journal entries, timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts and proper application of accounting policies and procedures for entities outsourced by the company.

 

  • ">
  • Prepare and review daily and monthly journal entries ensuring all entries are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
    ">
  • Develop account analysis and related supporting schedules on an as needed basis.
    ">
  • Supervise and train Assistant Accountants and General Ledger Assistants including reviewing journal entries/account analysis.
    ">
  • Compile Daily Cashflow Report for Management.
    ">
  • Prepare account reconciliation schedules for month-end closing process.
    ">
  • Interact with affiliate companies in the Group regarding intercompany transactions/charges.
    ">
  • Assist Senior Accountant/Assistant Financial Controller with month end closing process.
    ">
  • Support Senior Accountant with actual vs budget variance analysis and commentary on monthly departmental P&L.
    ">
  • Distribute departmental P&L to Department heads and liaise with relevant parties to ensure all revenue and expenses are properly recorded.
    ">
  • Interact with various sources of financial information (e.g., Accounts Payable, Payroll, audit, etc.) and financial system to ensure accurate and timely management reporting. Identify issues and provide potential solutions.
    ">
  • Liaise with external parties, including auditors or government bodies, to meet reporting deadlines, cost objectives and resolve accounting and audit issues.
    ">
  • Prepare information for tax filing or other statutory reporting to government agencies.
    ">
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations in jurisdictions the Company provides Outsourcing Services to.
    ">
  • Undertake special projects as required.
    ">
  • Pro-actively seek to identify new and improved ways of working, including increased automation and technology where possible.
    ">
  • Ensure all Policies and Procedures are kept up to date and updated as changes occur.
    ">
  • Perform other ad hoc duties assigned by immediate superiors from time to time.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • ">
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting/commercial or auditing experience.
    ">
  • University degree in Accounting/Finance.
    ">
  • Professional certification will be an advantage; but not essential.
