Revenue Accounting Specialist

The Finance department is seeking a highly skilled Revenue Accounting Specialist to join their team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition, delivering high-quality audit-ready financial data that reflects the company's performance and supports key strategic decisions.

This specialist will be responsible for reviewing customer contracts, performing revenue allocations, maintaining revenue schedules, and supporting monthly and quarterly closes. They will also help build scalable processes as the business continues to grow and expand globally.

Key customers of this role include the FP&A team, Commercial Finance, Sales Ops, Legal, AR, and External Auditors. Internally, this specialist will work cross-functionally with Deal Desk, Order Management, Sales, serving as a subject matter expert on revenue-related matters and guiding them on appropriate treatment for complex deals and contract terms.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in monthly revenue accounting close activities by preparing journal entries and performing key account reconciliations, including those related to revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables.
• Assist with revenue reporting and analysis by monitoring customer usage.
• Review standard and non-standard contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP, ensuring the company is compliant with revenue recognition principles.
• Assist in the order to cash process, reviewing submitted sales orders in our accounting system to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance.
• Manage and maintain Net Suite ARM to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, data validation, reconciliation processes, data flows.
• Work cross functionally within the organization to drive automation efforts to streamline accounting operations related to revenue accounting and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Work directly with our sales, customer success, revenue operations, and FP&A teams to obtain needed data and reporting to support monthly revenue entries.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal process documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and operational efficiency across teams.
• Perform special technical projects, analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
• Play a key role throughout the company financial audit, preparing & reviewing revenue related schedules for external auditors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or ACCA/CIMA qualified or progress toward certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in SaaS revenue accounting with a focus on ASC 606 (desirable but not essential).
• Proficiency with ERP and revenue tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, CPQ).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to support both strategic and hands-on work.
