Job TitleDesign Services Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a professional to lead our design services team. This role involves overseeing project resourcing, team performance and budget management. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and align with company goals. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage 3–6 Design Team Leads of varying seniority levels.
  • Recruit, train, coach and develop team members while managing onboarding and continuous training programs.
  • Conduct performance assessments, provide regular feedback and take appropriate performance management actions.
  • Manage workload distribution and ensure quality outputs for all stakeholder projects.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team culture across dispersed geographies.
Job Function 1: People Management & Leadership Manage a team of professionals by leading them through influence, coaching and mentoring. Conduct regular performance assessments, provide constructive feedback and develop strategies for improvement. Foster an inclusive and diverse work environment where every employee feels valued and empowered. Job Function 2: Workforce Management & Resourcing Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet project requirements by developing resource allocation strategies and executing them effectively. Assign tasks based on team members' strengths and expertise to maximize productivity. Build business cases for team growth and run effective recruitment activities. Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Job Function 3: Operations, Strategy & Process Improvement Develop operational strategies that align with the organization's short- and long-term goals. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to optimize efficiency and performance. Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency and report on progress and outcomes. Lead change initiatives and ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption. Job Function 4: Budget & Financial Management Partner with finance and senior leadership to forecast annual budgets, including promotions, new hires, events and travel. Ensure the team operates within approved budgets and proactively manage expenses. Required Skills and Qualifications To be successful in this role you should have at least 5 years of operations management experience. You must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as analytical and data-driven abilities. Proficiency in workforce management software and relevant technologies is highly desirable. Nice to Have: Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones, advanced knowledge of strategic planning and operational efficiency projects, and a track record of successful change management initiatives would be beneficial.
