About the Role

The Central Ordering Lead will oversee and manage central ordering processes within our Fit-Out Services department. This role is pivotal to ensuring efficient and timely procurement of materials and services required for various projects.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure that all ordering activities are executed effectively and align with company strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a strong customer service ethos within the central ordering team by demonstrating excellence in customer service personally and coaching and mentoring team members to consistently deliver a customer-focused experience.
  • Lead the central ordering team in purchasing materials and services, ensuring all orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to budget constraints and project timelines.
  • Track performance and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed without overstocking and implement inventory management best practices to minimize waste and optimize storage space.
  • Continuously assess and improve ordering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs by implementing new technologies and systems as necessary.
  • Work closely with centre delivery managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure that all ordering activities support project goals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on ordering activities, supplier performance, and cost savings, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure all ordering activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the construction or fit-out industry.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team with strong leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
