The role of a Data Specialist involves providing administrative support, data entry, and database management using advanced technology platforms.

About the Job

This position focuses on ensuring data accuracy, security, and usability for cross-functional teams by providing main points of contact for database usage questions at the project level, determining issue escalation to support teams, and coordinating accordingly.

The successful candidate will ensure client reporting needs are met by determining required data points, establishing data entry and reporting workflows, and providing training to users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Main point of contact for database usage questions at the project level.
  • Determine issue escalation to support teams and coordinate accordingly.
  • Determine client reporting needs and coordinate with support for new reports.
  • Ensure data points align with client requirements and coordinate with support for custom reports.
  • Identify required data points for each project and establish data entry and reporting workflows.
  • Coordinate team roles and permissions for the database system and include roster details on project documentation.
  • Provide training to users and set up training at project start and for new team members.
  • Ensure accurate data entry through QA/QC activities and verify data completeness and accuracy.
  • Export and review reports for quality assurance and coordinate data issue resolutions with project teams and support.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues, assist with database enhancements, and provide demonstrations of database functionality to employees and clients.
  • Provide access to projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data entry, database administration, or data support roles.
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., Salesforce, Access, SQL-based systems, or proprietary platforms).
  • Experience supporting or training end users on database systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with report generation and data exports/imports; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation).
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to identify data inconsistencies; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and in a team; proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Reliable internet connection and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting user training sessions and creating support documentation.
  • Experience defining workflows and managing user roles/permissions across projects.
  • Familiarity with workflow documentation or SOP creation.
Technical Requirements
  • Laptop/Computer (at least 8 GB RAM)
  • Headset with noise-canceling microphone preferred
  • Fast, stable internet connection (at least 30 Mbps)
  • Current endpoint protection installed and up to date
