At Canonical, we're looking for a skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to build a career in technical support, working closely with customers who rely on Ubuntu and open-source products.

About the Role:

This is a challenging role that requires a passion for technology, a strong analytical mind, and excellent communication skills. You'll be responsible for investigating complex customer issues, escalating problems, and working collaboratively to resolve them.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Linux systems, virtualization, containers, storage technologies, and networking. Additionally, they'll have experience with cloud computing, troubleshooting, and programming fundamentals.

As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll engage directly with customers through various channels, including phone, ticketing system, and remote sessions. You'll also contribute to knowledge base articles, ensuring that shared knowledge and lessons learned are available to customers.

  • Investigate and escalate complex customer issues

Requirements:
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or compelling narrative about alternative chosen path
  • Track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
  • Hands-on experience in supporting Linux systems, including virtualization, containers, storage technologies, and networking
  • Cloud computing expertise in provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, etc.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience
  • Programming fundamentals in any language
  • Extensive customer support experience
