Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Design Manager, you will oversee the entire design process from conceptualization to implementation. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Design Managers, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Communicate management goals, evaluate team performance, and provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Design Review & Compliance: Ensure all plans, drawings, and documents meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Consultant Coordination: Oversee consultant submissions, fee proposals, and ensure technical specifications align with company standards.
  • Procurement & Budgeting: Review quotations, bids, and estimates for accuracy and compliance.
  • Project Monitoring & Site Inspections: Track project timelines, budgets, and implementation quality, and conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to approved designs.
  • Billing & Documentation: Assess supplier billings, ensure proper documentation, and manage project close-out and filing procedures.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is required; a master's degree is an advantage.
  • Professional licensure or certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple design and construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge in design planning, value engineering, and building technologies.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software is required.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills are essential for success in this role.
