Regional Volunteer Coordinator Job Description

The Regional Volunteer Coordinator role plays a crucial part in the management and engagement of current and new volunteers within assigned countries. This position supports the volunteer program by coordinating with host country staff and Program Operations to determine volunteer team roles needed, along with planning for local and international volunteer identification and placement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate volunteer team roles, including plan for local and international volunteer identification and placement.
  • Determine equitable ways to offer international volunteer positions to partner and program countries, supporting their volunteer engagement goals.
  • Manage all aspects of volunteer placement, international flight logistics, and volunteer preparation with appropriate staff.
  • Support credentialing of volunteers in assigned countries by ensuring documentation is accurate, requirements are met, and process completed.
  • Assess volunteer evaluations, escalating priority issues/comments to relevant staff.
  • Provide status updates and summary reports on volunteer placement and team composition to RVM and Program Operations staff.
  • Support regional volunteer management staff through training and support.
  • Develop volunteer resources, document management, and data collection and management processes.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, or project management, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work outside standard business hours and travel internationally (10% of the year) is also required.
